Calcium and Nitrate Reactors

The only aragonite reactor media. A complete reactor media containing not only calcium and carbonate, but essential trace elements as well. In fact A.R.M. has nearly 50 times the strontium of other brands (7,390 ppm). A.R.M. is processed for immediate use, no rinsing required, and has double the surface area of regular aragonite. Precision grading (2-3mm) allows for maximum carbon dioxide penetration, and the exclusion of gastropod shells insures the lowest phosphate and silica (about 1/2 that of other brands) content. This grading also carries in the highest concentration of Halimeda incrassata, an aragonite so pure it has been used as a laboratory standard. A.R.M. has the highest solubility of any reactor media available (metastable at 8.2) so CO2 consumption is much lower. A.R.M., its what your corals are made of.

The M-Ventil Standard has a high quality body manufactured from nickel plated brass with a maximum operating pressure of 6 bar, pressure fittings for the 6mm flexible hose can be connected. The solenoid coil consumes only 2.5 watts of electrical energy to prevent overheating. In conjunction with a pH controller automatic control of the CO2 supply and pH can be achieved. If used with a timer, the valve will provide a night shut off system.

Perfect for calcium reactor and Freshwater Plant CO2 injection applications - It can provide a consistent bubbling rate from as low as 10 bubbles / min and up. This is more than sufficient for most aquaristic applications. But if you require something even more refined & precise, you may upgrade its Precision Needle Valve to a Metering Valve.

The Aqua Medic Calcium Reactor is a module for the creation of a natural calcium carbonic acid equilibrium in the aquarium. It is filled with hydrocarbonate. As calcium carbonate is not soluble at pH values, that are recommended in seawater aquaria, CO2 has to be injected into the reactor. This results in a local decrease of the pH and the solution of Calcium hydrogen carbonate. This way of calcium dosing does not effect the pH, like the use of "Kalkwasser".

The Calciumreactor 400 is a completely sealed system operating at a very low flow rate. Within the reactor calcium and calcium bicarbonate ions are release by the controlled dosing of CO2 gas. This provides the calcium hydrocarbonate that hard coral require to build their exoskeletons.

The reactor is filled with Hydrocarbonate – a pure form of calcium carbonate with an extremely low phosphate level. For optimum control and the most economic use of the CO2 gas, we recommend the reactor be used in conjunction with an Aqua Medic pH controller. The reactor is already equipped to accept our pressurised electrode.
